The golden era of Post Apocalypse (PA) films begun around 1982, the bastard offspring of America's Escape from New York and Australia’s Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, unfortunately, the PA nasties that spewed out of the Philippines, Italy, Australia and the States all but run out of steam (and ideas) by the late 1980s.
The most prolific country to churn out PA disaster pieces during this time would have to be Italy. Italian Post Apocalyptic films always offered up a great way to waste a couple of hours through sheer 'over the top' action and a healthy dose of cheese
